This standard is based on GB/T1.1-2009 given rules for drafting。

This standard is modified by redrafting method using ISO22034-1:2007 "Steel wire and steel wire products - Part 1: General test methods".。

This standard is structurally adjusted from ISO22034-1:2007 and A list of chapter numbers compared to ISO22034-1:2007 is given in Appendix A。

The provisions relating to technical differences between this standard and ISO22034-1:2007 are indicated by a single vertical line (|) in the margins outside the standard. A list of technical differences and the reasons for them is given in Appendix B。

The following editorial changes have also been made:

- Change the standard name to "General Test Methods for Steel Wire and Steel Wire Products"。

This standard is proposed by the China Iron and Steel Association。

This standard is centralized by the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 183)。
